RNA Sample Requirements for Agilent Bioanalyzer Analysis

BIOGEM provides a service whereby we run customer RNA samples on the Agilent Bioanalyzer to determine whether the integrity of the RNA sample(s) in question is good. Priority is given to users for whom we are running microarray experiments at a cost of $22 per sample. For investigators not requesting microarray experiments, there is a minimum charge of $220. (Nano full chip – 11 samples/ Pico full chip – 10 samples)

Please note that the turnaround time for Bioanalyzer services not related to microarray experiments is one to two weeks. This is dependent on the number of microarray experiments ongoing.

This form must be filled out completely before we can accept any samples. Once this form has been filled out, please coordinate with James Sprague to drop off samples.

Provide the RNA for Agilent analysis (nanochip) at a concentration range of 0.2 mg to 1 mg per ml or a concentration range of 0.005mg to 0.01 mg per ml (pico chip for samples with limited amount) At least 3 ul is preferred. Label these tubes with with the following information:

Label the labeling aliquot tubes with these information:

Summary of RNA Requirements:

If the following can information be provided, please do so. If this is not practical i.e. if you are working with very small RNA amounts this information is not necessary.

RNA quality will be checked at the facility. If low quality is suspected or the RNA fails to meet our criteria, the experiment will be stopped. Please contact James Sprague if you have any questions or concerns about the integrity of your RNA samples.
